We assist sole practitioners and small firms in particular, with their litigation work. They tell us what they need from us and we use our resources, skills and experience to help them get the work done.

That work could range from a short term assignments like preparing the documents for an urgent application for settling by their Counsel or preparing Court Books, chronologies and bundles before hearing, to helping them with the whole of the matter by liaising on strategy, providing advice and drafting the documents and correspondence needed to run the matter to its end.

That’s great that you have that help. Lots of our clients have staff too but they’re either really stretched, or they don’t have the skills and experience in litigation to run a matter efficiently and effectively.

We work with several firms that specialise in one type of law, like property and conveyancing, who have only one or a few litigation matters that they really want to assist their clients with, but don’t have the resources or experience to see the matter through.

We’ve also met many a secretary or receptionist who was at her wits end trying all day to do the work that an experienced paralegal can do in minutes. In fact, we’ve met so many of these poor souls, we are thinking of starting a support group!

I usually just ask Counsel to do this work for me, isn’t that better?

Honestly, sometimes it is. We love working with Counsel and have a great relationship with lots of Barristers that we trust. There are definitely some matters where it is just quicker and easier to bundle up the work and ask Counsel to do it.

But in our experience, Counsel truly appreciates not having to do the work that we as solicitors should really be doing. That leaves them free to concentrate on the big picture stuff, which we really need from them.

how do you get paid?

We tailor our fees and charges to make sure that you profit from our work in the same way you would if your own employees were completing it. We can charge you flat fees or hourly rates, and will do our best to make sure that fits in with your own billing arrangements with your client.
